Dean Findlay - Chief Building Official

Dean was born and raised in Peterborough, 3rd and 4th generation going back to the early days of the Electric City! Studied Engineering in Ottawa, worked in Construction Project Management in Ottawa and Montreal. Returned to the Peterborough area in 1994 and changed careers to that of a professional Building Official. Joined the City of Peterborough team in 2004 and currently serve as the City Chief Building Official and Manager of the Building Services Division.

Current President of the Alliance of Canadian Building Officials Associations, and Past President of the Ontario Building Officials Association, I strive to ensure people live, work and play in safe, usable, accessible and efficient buildings!
